European Retreat with Swami Veda, Swami Ritavan, Swami Nityamuktananda:
"The ancient wisdom of the Upanishads to rediscover the Inner Master and learn the art of living"
The Himalayan Yoga Institute-Italy organizes an extraordinary opportunity for the members of finding the real teaching of the representatives of the Lineage of the millenary Himalayan Tradition of Meditation and Yoga, in a residential retreat of four days that will take place in Tuscany, on mount of La Verna (Arezzo). This mountain, which was for S. Francis of Assisi loved place of his hermitage during his periods in search of solitude and contemplation, has become a pilgrimage destination of countless spiritual seekers. Here we naturally are accompanied and inspired by the perennial trace of the Saint’s sadhana: his holiness is engraved in every corner of this wild and majestic landscape.
In this precious opportunity of meeting with the Himalayan Masters, we will be led towards the rediscovery of our true nature with the aid of the ancient texts of the Vedas that, lovingly, speak to our conscience. The sacred presence of sages and saints will be guide for a greater understanding towards a true inner research.

Yoga Nidra Conference with Swami Veda and others
Yoga-nidra (Yoga Sleep) is to be defined as the experience of a state of Conscious Sleep in which the subject is showing all the symptoms of deep non-REM sleep, producing delta (1-4 hertz) brain waves, and is at the same time fully conscious of the events in his surroundings. (Swami Veda)
Swami Rama wrote: “Yoga nidra has immense benefits and can be used for learning the subtleties of life. Only by yoga nidra can one study how the mind slips to dreaming and then goes to deep sleep, how the conscious mind withdraws itself and goes to the lap of the unconscious. The yogis recall all their samskaras, watch them, examine, and even select and reject them according to their need. Those thought patterns that are disturbing are rejected, and those that are helpful are strengthened. With the help and practice of yoga nidra, one can go beyond all the levels of the unconscious.”

Yoga-Youth and Children’s Retreat Preparations for the yoga and meditation camp for youths and their families in December 22-31, 2011 continue with attention to details. The main organizer Lela Pierce, with her band of both mature and young initiates of the Himalayan Tradition, is striving hard to bring together an international group of families with children to make this camp a success.
We all know that the future always lies with the coming generation, and as Swami Veda keeps reiterating the young need to be drawn into this circle of Peace and Joy to share among themselves the treasures of the traditions so these teachings may continue from generation to generation.
The venue for the camp will be the SRSG campus in Rishikesh with nearby accommodation for a possible overflow of participants. There has been much interest shown so please keep looking for continual updates here and at AHYMSIN website. A separate website is in preparation for direct contact.
It is hoped that the children well versed in Indian cultures, habits, patterns, song and dance, from the KHEL project might be participating with the campers as a liaison between cultures.
Your input, suggestions and help will be most welcome. Please go to the following links for information and registration.
