Installation of Mount Kailash Murti

At Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama

by Swami Ritavan Bharati

Darshan: A Sacred Vision

Before you leave the body you will receive the Darshan of Mount Kailash” were the words of Swami Rama used to fulfill Swami Veda’s yearning. And now at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, as the pundits completed the prana-pratishta, the Sacred Rock has become the Holy Mountain shrine as predicted so many years ago, fulfilling Swamiji’s life-long desire. (See Swami Veda’s description of Mt Kailash at http://www.ahymsin.org/docs2/News/1111Nov/01.html).

AHYMSIN pilgrims together with Taiwan, China and Australian Buddhists Bikshus made the month-long pilgrimage of Mt Kailash and the Sacred Lands of Tibet. (See travelogue reports at:

To acknowledge the honorary presence of Swami Veda Bharati on this journey, a special rock of Mt Kailash and holy water of Lake Manasarova were brought and presented to him. In reverence of his Guru's Gift, Swami Veda immediately proposed a shrine site next to the mountain-like presence of Shankaracharya representing the Himalayan Lineage.

The rock carried in sacred procession with the chant of a litany of Vedic mantras, along with an elaborate three hour puja, brought Guru's Darshan to all who attended. The murti of the Kailasha stone was installed amidst the flowing waters representing the 4 major rivers attributing Kailash-area as their source, surrounded by a serene pool signifying Lake Manasarova. As a shrine, the sanctified presence represents the sacred visions of time-immemorial for adherents of four religions and blessings for spiritual seekers who visit this special tirtha. Do plan to spend some time at the shrine when you next visit SRSG, in Rishikesh.

And Swami Veda reminds us that the sacred Mount Kailash of the Sahasrara Chakra awakens the river-of-consciousness ever-flowing as a stream of light through the sushumna of your personality as you meditate each day.
