Guru Purnima Retreat 2014

“Guru Purnima is a day that reminds one that the purpose of life is to attain knowledge which dispels the darkness of ignorance. The word ‘guru’ is a pious and holy word which means the source of knowledge. There is only one life force so there is only one guru. Deep within the center of our being resides the guru. Let us all direct and guide our energy to the center from where consciousness flows in various degrees and grades.”

— Swami Rama

Guru Purnima celebrations were held 4th - 12th July, at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama and Sadhana Mandir in Rishikesh, India. The retreat had 9 days akhanda-patha of Guru-gita starting on 4th July 2014, ending on 12th July 2014 (Guru Purnima). The next Guru Purnima retreat will be 23rd – 31st July 2015; plan now.
