Stomaji’s Visit in Athens

by Sofia Foteina

We were happy and honored to have had Stomaji with us in the “Himalayan Yoga Meditation of Hellas” from the 14th to the 30th of September 2016, for two weekend seminars about “Emotional Purification” and “Yoga Nidra”.

This kind of seminars and this kind of teacher makes it difficult to find words to describe the messages, information and advice we received. He was always willing to “be there” for simple worded information, for initiation, for strengthening our self- image, for proposing with his example. He inspired us to work and have faith in our efforts and fed our mind and heart. He answered all questions and pointed out the best part of ourselves. I keep in my heart some of his phrases: “Replace happiness with joy”. “We feel joy when we grow”. “When we do not have fear, people around us are not afraid”.

Most of the participants considered the organization of the seminars each one’s responsibility, cooked for everybody, served and helped in any possible way according to the Greek “filoxenia” (love towards newcomers).

In between the seminars we accompanied Stomaji and Scott to visit ancient Greece’s sites of spiritual interest, where he proved to be more informed than many Greeks, as he had discussed at length with Litsa Martzoukou who is an ancient Greece lover and connoisseur (also was Swami Veda’s source of information on Ancient Greece), who was with her own group in the two seminars, translating indefatigably.

Now I will give word by word only some of the participants’ testimonies about the seminars and Stomaji himself:

**It seems that all teachers that come from the Himalayan Tradition are special and distinct.

**We are very happy because during these 15 days of Stomaji’s visit in Greece we lived as a family.

** I am grateful for all we shared during the seminar.

**I was lucky to find and travel in an empty boat to come for the Yoga Nidra seminar as well. I would not have missed it (said by a participant who lives on an island, having had difficulties to travel due to ship owners’ strike).

Thank you, Stomaji, for helping us to grow; we expect you again and look forward to having you with us.
