Stephen Parker (Stoma) and Michael Kissener recently commented on upeksha, which is one of the brahma-viharas.

On December 1, Stephen Parker (Stoma) shared a video by Siddhartha Krishna - Yoga Thoughts: Unconditional love of a Sadhu, a good personand commented that a good person: “...maintains an even-minded attitude even (especially) towards the unvirtuous and does not abandon them.”

Someone asked, “Maintain an even-minded attitude even toward _____?”

Michael Kissener replied:  “To maintain an even-minded attitude towards persons like _____ does not imply to refrain from the right and necessary action. If there's need we have to act as 'good persons', but not from an attitude of aversion or other negative emotions.  Swami Veda also continuously gave similar messages to us sadhakas.”

Purification of thought and emotions is a chief component of The Himalayan Tradition of Yoga Meditation, and the practice of the brahma-viharas is part of that process (YS.I.33).

Stoma and Michael are both mantra initiators and members of the AHYMSIN Adhyatma Samiti (Spiritual Committee).
