SUMMARY:Guru Purnima Retreat
\nOm. To that beautiful and benevolent Guru who is Brahmā\, the Creator\, Viṣṇu\, the Maintainer\, and Śiva\, the Great Lord through whom all things return to their origin. To that Guru who is the direct experience of Brahman\, salutations. \n“This day\, the day of Guru Purnima is considered to be the holiest day for the students of life; for those that have been treading the path of light; for those aspiring to attain enlightenment in this lifetime. They remember this day and celebrate it by becoming aware the purpose of life is to attain enlightenment; the state of mind\, internal state\, that makes one free from all pains and miseries.” – Swami Rama \nOn the sacred occasion of the Guru Purnima\, a 9-day celebration is held annually at the Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) Ashram in Rishikesh. This includes akhanda-patha (24-hour non-stop recitation) of the Guru-Gita\, the Song to the Guru\, preceding the Guru Purnima Day. The akhanda-patha of the Guru-Gita is offered both at the SRSG and the Sadhana Mandir Ashram by 11 Pandits each.  This special celebration is a reminder for us to pay our homage to the Guru Lineage that has bestowed upon us the great blessings of mantra\, meditation\, initiation and the teachings of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition. This way we also recommit ourselves to our practices. \nThis year\, the Guru Purnima is celebrated on 3 July\, 2023. The Guru Purnima Retreat will be organised at SRSG from 25 June – 3 July 2023.

SUMMARY:Mahasamadhi Retreat
DESCRIPTION:On the sacred day of 14 July 2015\, our beloved Swami Veda Bharati left his physical body and entered Mahasamadhi. \n\n“We gather as a celebration on the anniversary of our beloved Swami Veda’s samadhi. Here\, we are not adoring the physical body which was placed in this space a few years ago; we are present to embrace the subtlety of his example\, the beauty of his teaching\, and faith in his mandate – ‘share with the world the pure form of meditation and only initiate into the same.’” – Swami Ritavan Bharati \nEvery year\, we celebrate our dear Swamiji’s Mahasamadhi Anniversary by gathering together at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) Ashram in Rishikesh\, India. This includes a 5-day long yajna with the Guru-Gayatri Mantra with 12 priests. \n\nअखण्डमण्डलाकारं व्याप्तं येन चराचरम्।\nतत्पदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः॥ \nakhaṇḍa-maṇḍalākāraṁ vyāptaṁ yena carācaram\,\ntat-padaṁ darśitaṁ yena tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ.  \n(Which) pervades the entire unbroken form of the circle (of creation)\, moving and unmoving. To that beautiful and benevolent Guru through whom that state was revealed (to me)\, salutations. \nॐ तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्॥ \nOm Bhur Bhuvah Svah\nTat savitur varenyam\nBhargo devasya dhimahi\nDhiyo yo nah prachodayat. \nOm. In Earth\, Sky and Heaven\, I do meditate on\, and sustain in myself\, the beautiful brilliance of God who shines in the splendor of the sun.

SUMMARY:Art of Spiritual Learning
DESCRIPTION:The path of spiritual learning is a journey from the external to the internal. From information to knowldege and from knowledge to experience leading to realization. We find in Vedanta the 3 steps of learning; Śravaṇa (listening) is the first step in the process of learning. It involves active and focused listening to the teachings of a Guru. Manana (reflection/contemplation/clearing of doubts) is the second step and involves reflecting on what has been learned and clearing any doubts that may arise. Nididhyasana (meditation on the truth/integration/experience) is the final step and involves meditating on what has been learned and integrating it into one’s life. \nIn these special online study with Rabindra Sahu\, we will learn this ancient art of spiritual learning. \nAs our Master Swami Veda Bharati would often remind us that it is not possible to put a price on the teachings received\, there is no course fee for this course. Loving donations from the heart may be offered and will support the ashram. \nTeacher: Rabindra Sahu\nBegins: 22 July 2023 (Saturday)\nThe 6 sessions will be organized over three weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at 6-7 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) from 22 July – 6 Aug\, 2023.\nKindly convert to your country’s time-zone accordingly.\nMedium: Online through Zoom\nRequest: Kindly join only if you are able to commit to all the 6 sessions\, as the topics are progressive and systematic.\nLast Date for Registration: 21 July\, 2023 (Friday)\nFor Registrations/Inquiries/Donations: ahymsin@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Mind\, Meditation\, and You
DESCRIPTION:How to Energize Your Mind to Regain Your Divine Strength\nA workshop based on the section “Strong Mind\, Weak Mind\,” from the soon-to-be-published book\, Mind: The Playground of Gods\, by Swami Veda Bharati. \nSwami Rama said\, “All of the body is in the mind but all of the mind is not in the body.” In the “modern” world we think of the mind as equivalent to the brain\, which occupies only the small space within the skull. How can it be that all of the mind is not in the body when the brain is entirely in the body? What was that Swami thinking? The answer is that\, according to yoga philosophy\, the mind is a subtle energy field\, whereas the body is gross. The mind field is subtler than prana\, subtler than the body\, subtler than your clothes\, but is still considered to be material and this mind energy field is greater than the body. In other words\, the body lives within the subtler mind field. \nIn this series of Zoom sessions\, we will study this knowledge through the lens of Swami Veda’s writings and lectures. There will be talks by the leader\, readings from Swami Veda’s upcoming book\, introspection\, group discussions\, and group practice. This will be an opportunity to get a better understanding of the mind and a chance to strengthen your mind. \nKindly Contact ahymsin@ahymsin.org for registration and more information. \nDonations are welcome. \nThe event dates are 29 July\, 5 August and 13 August 2023. \n\n\n\nAbout the Workshop Leader\n \nRandall Krause is a Senior Teacher and Mentor in the Himalayan Yoga Meditation Tradition. \nHe has been an initiate for more than 30 years and spent much time learning closely from Swami Veda Bharati. He also often personally served Swamiji in India and America. He has taught the Himalayan Tradition in the USA\, Europe\, India (at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama)\, and Thailand and Taiwan. Randall has closely studied “Sadhana in Applied Spirituality” and experimented with applying the principles in his own life.
