SUMMARY:Biofeedback\, Tai Chi\, and Qigong Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Tai Chi and Qigong (Nikki):\nTwo practice sessions and two lectures each day\, one focusing on tai chi and the other qigong\, \nTai Chi: Our focus will be on practicing simple routines and movement drills that build body and mind awareness and help cultivate health and longevity in a way very complimentary to our regular Himalayan style practices\, These practices will be taught at a level accessible to beginners but also offering more depth appropriate for experienced practitioners. At the end of the retreat each person will have a suite of movement practices and a mini Wudang Mountain Tai Chi form that they can use as they see fit\, integrated into their daily life\, or simply as an experience to help build insight into the practices they already have. \nQigong: The qigong that we will practice is a deeply healing and energetically balancing style of qigong that has its origins in the Shaolin temples and Daoist masters of the mountains of Central China. At the end of the retreat each participant will have a number of valuable tools to add to their toolbox for managing stress\, building energetic resilience\, and cultivating a healthier\, more balanced\, body\, mind\, and spirit. \nThe tai chi and qigong sessions will have accompanying note pages that we will prepare for the participants reference. They can be made available in digital or print format. By providing general reference notes\, the participants can more fully engage in practice without being distracted by note taking. \nGeneral note: The tai chi and qigong sessions will be very fluid and the content may change slightly depending on the mood and general feeling during each practice session. \nBiofeedback (Daniel):\nA few talks will be offered to explain the concepts of biofeedback. The focus would be on individual\, one on one\, private sessions with Daniel for all the participants. \nBiofeedback is well-recognised as a powerful\, non-invasive\, and relatively simple way to measure subtle changes in the emotional and physiological state in order to increase self awareness and support the process of leaning self-regulation. Daniel will be using state of the art research/clinical grade biofeedback equipment (and training techniques) to measure HRV (Heart Rate Variability) to determine RFB (Resonant Frequency Breathing)\, the ideal breathing rate that will most quickly balance the autonomic nervous system. A typical session will use a heart rate sensor and a respiration belt. Participants will be guided through a series of Yoga and Meditation breathing exercises in order to determine the optimal RFB for that individual. Time permitting\, other biofeedback modalities may be measured\, such as muscle tension\, skin temperature\, or skin conductance.

SUMMARY:Renunciation: The Universal Belonging
DESCRIPTION:Swami Ritavan Bharati invites all sincere seekers to join this special program on the most auspicious occasion of the Maha-Shivaratri. In 2027\, Maha-Shiavratri will be on 6 March 2027. \nHe has said\, \n‘Let your Maha-Shivaratri pilgrimage to Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama draw you to receive the Guru’s Embrace of Love that enwraps all spiritual seekers of Light. Plan to participate in the Shivaratri week-long activities that invites a deeper awareness and offers an opportunity for inner transformation when internal havan burns the dross of samskaras\, and external havan with japa creates a transformative experience. \nMay these themes of fearlessness\, non-attachment\, and renunciation resonate with that innermost desireless state of equanimity and joy. \nA renunciate breathes the life-breath of all; nurturing while being attached to none; gives support and encouragement to all without needing emotional support; free from fears and jealousy\, loving all\, excluding none\, with “abhayam” for there is no “other” to fear. \nLet your heart remain open to receiving this calling of Lord Shiva\, the Universal Renunciate.’ \n

SUMMARY:A New Chapter in the Himalayan Yoga Tradition - Teacher Training Program (HYT-TTP)
DESCRIPTION:In 2025\, we celebrated two sacred events with our global family—the birth centenary of Gurudeva Swami Rama and the 10th Mahasamadhi of our beloved Swami Veda Bharati. These sacred occasions brought forward a new wave within our global sangha as we came together in gratitude towards the loving guidance and teachings of the Tradition that continues to flow and guide us each day. \nDuring this same period\, Swami Ritavan Bharati\, AHYMSIN’s Spiritual Guide and Ashram Pramukha\, shared his vision for the next chapter of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition – Teacher Training Program (HYT-TTP). Swami Ritavan shared that it was Swami Veda’s wish to offer this program from Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama Ashram in Rishikesh—the global headquarters of AHYMSIN and the spiritual home of the global sangha. \nFor several decades\, the HYT-TTP has served sincere aspirants worldwide in discovering the authentic teachings of yoga meditation\, and in experiencing the subtler teachings in their personal lives. Over the years\, the program has trained and helped transform hundreds of teachers across the world to first deepen their own practice and then to share the wisdom of the Himalayan Tradition with their students. \nIn Swami Veda’s own words: \n“This program has been designed to pass on the essential principles and practices of the Tradition\, which fosters personal development on all levels. For the aspiring as well as the experienced teacher\, the program presents all aspects of yoga/meditation in a spiritually inspiring context… \nOur practical\, experiential approach to teacher training encourages students to incorporate these skills into their daily lives.” \nA Renewed Approach to Teacher Training\nAnnouncing this renewal\, Swami Ritavan Bharati shared: \n“The teaching as taught by Gurudeva Swami Rama and Swami Veda has been carrying on for 55 years. We are starting another era of the teacher training program here at our ashram. It will be a month-long intensive residency that will be full days of all aspects of training yoga teachers. Not so much for the purpose that they will do research\, not for the purpose that they will go out and teach the philosophy\, but that they will practice\, and they will teach from their experience of practicing.” \nThe renewed program is dedicated to making the teachings of Gurudev Swami Rama available to a new generation of sincere aspirants. It carries forward the essence of what Swami Veda offered us as the foundation of a teacher in the Himalayan Yoga Tradition: self-transformation through personal practice and teaching through one’s own experience. \nThe program offers an integrated approach to learning\, practice\, reflection\, and self-study\, allowing participants to experience the teachings not merely as knowledge\, but as a way of life. \nKey Highlights of the Renewed Teacher Training Program\n1. An Integrated Program in Self-Transformation \nThe renewed program is offered in a hybrid format\, combining an immersive period of 4-week in-person learning with continued personal practice\, self-study\, and online guidance for 20 weeks. \n4-week Intensive Residential Retreat at SRSG offering experiential and practical training into the study and practice of yoga meditation\, within the spiritually energised environment of Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama. \n21-week Guided Self-study and Personal Practice that is supported by live online weekend classes with internationally acclaimed faculty\, thus allowing opportunity for receiving continued guidance from the teachers and providing space and time for self-observation\, self-examination\, and self-purification. \n2. Beginning with Level One – 200 Hours \nThe renewed program begins with the first-ever 4-week Level One\, 200 Hours retreat At SRSG from 14 March to 10 April 2027. The program will be offered twice each year—in March and November. \n3. Ten Study Areas \nIn line with the teachings of Gurudeva Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati\, and rooted in the traditional texts of yoga\, the program continues to offer the same ten integrated study areas\, as in the previous format of HYT-TTP: \n\nYoga Foundation Studies\nYoga Sadhana\nHatha Yoga\nBreathing and Pranayama\nRelaxation and Meditation\nAnatomy and Physiology\nHolistic Health and Ayurveda\nYoga Psychology\nYoga Philosophy\nTeaching Methodology\n\n4. An international faculty rooted in the Tradition \nThe program brings together an internationally recognised faculty of teachers\, who have been trained within the Himalayan Yoga Tradition under the guidance and inspiration of Gurudeva Swami Rama\, Swami Veda Bharati\, and Swami Ritavan Bharati. \nRegistrations for the March 2027 program will begin on 20 October 2026. \nFor further information about the program\, please write to Namita Sinha at ahymsinttp@gmail.com \nWith a deep commitment to preserving and carrying forward the teachings of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition\, as per the wishes of our beloved master Swami Veda Bharati\, we pray to continue to receive the guidance of the Himalayan Sages on this renewed path\, \nIn loving service of the Sages of the Himalayas\, \nNamita Sinha
