SUMMARY:International Yoga Day 2026 Hybrid Retreat
DESCRIPTION:An Invitation for a Virtual Sangha Retreat\nOn 21st June 2026 we will celebrate the 12th International Yoga Day. \n \nSince its inception in 2015\, following the proposal of the Prime Minister of India\, Shri Narendra Modi\, International Yoga Day has received immense popularity globally. The resolution was adopted by 175 countries\, reflecting the growing recognition of yoga as a holistic science of living that is both relevant and valuable in the present times. \nOur beloved Swami Veda Bharati was observing a five-year vow of silence at the time\, but he made a rare exception to speak on this important occasion for India’s national television broadcaster\, Doordarshan. You may watch this interview on YouTube. \nAbout the International Yoga Day\, Swami Veda has said\, \n“On such a day\, all those who follow the inner spiritual core of yoga in their quest\, in whichever branch of spiritual yoga\, they need to get together to share their inner experiences\, contemplate on their advancement in the quest\, and be in a mode of deep inner silence. \nOn this day\, let all those who adhere to the ancient systems of yoga as taught by the rishis gather and meditate together. Meditate with body\, mind and spirit.” \nThe day is also marked as Summer Solstice\, the longest day of the year. \nIn the message on the International Yoga Day\, our Spiritual Guide and Ashram Pramukha\, Swami Ritavan Bharati reminded us of the true meaning of yoga as silence and stillness of the inner Self: \n“Yoga unites everybody in silence and meditation. Yoga is a tradition of discovering the inner serene silence. Yoga is not a system of physical movement. It is a system of silence and stillness from which the movement expresses itself. It is the subtle yoga\, not the yoga of the body but the yoga of the inner self.” \nWith these inspirations\, we lovingly invite our AHYMSIN family to come together for an online and in-person program hosted from our spiritual home\, Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) \nIn this two-day hybrid retreat on 20th and 21st June (Saturday and Sunday)\, 2026 we come together in practice\, inspiration\, stillness and meditation. \nSwami Ritavan Bharati shall guide and inspire us into deeper and subtler aspects of yoga\, silence and meditation. \nWe will also be guided by our ashram and international teachers in practice sessions and reflections on yoga philosophy. \nProgram Schedule: \nAll timing mentioned in Indian Standard Time\, kindly adjust to your local time. Live from SRSG. \nJune 20th\, 2026 – Saturday \n\n5:30 to 7:00 AM IST: Morning Joints and Glands exercises with Ramprakash Das and Pt Deepak\n7:30 to 9:00 PM IST: Living Purposefully – Yoga in Daily Life with Rabindra Sahu\n\nJune 21st\, 2026 – Sunday: International Yoga Day \n\n5:30 to 7:00 AM IST: Stillness in Sun Salutation: Summer Solstice Inspiration and Practice with Pierre Lefebvre (Pt Priyadarshan)\n3:00 to 4:30 PM IST: Ashtanga Yoga: Walking on the Royal Path with John Sellinger\n7:30 to 9:00 PM IST: What Can Yoga Grant: Inspiration and Meditation with Swami Ritavan Bharati\n\nTo join the program please pre-register yourself by signing up this registration form. \nAs seats for these live sessions are limited\, participants shall kindly be accommodated on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nSpecial days such as this serve as loving reminders to renew our commitment to our sadhana and to offer our loving gratitude to the guru lineage. Love offerings as dakshina made in gratitude for the teachings are most welcome. \nFor any queries and further information please write to us at ahymsin@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Inspirations from the Himalayan Master - Online Event Series
DESCRIPTION:A 100-day contemplative study dedicated to Swami Rama’s birth centenary\, inspired by his teachings through two of his profound books. \nSwami Rama of the Himalayas was raised in the cave monasteries of the Himalayas\, among yogis and adepts in the ancient science of yoga and Indian spirituality. Swamiji\, as we fondly refer to him\, was sent to the United States in the late 1960s by his master to share the science of yoga with the Western world – empowering people to live more meaningfully\, understand themselves\, and discover the purpose of life. \nAn author\, poet\, doctor\, artist\, and humanitarian\, Swami Rama transformed the lives of many through his lectures\, books\, and discourses. His method of teaching was direct and accessible\, enabling the modern mind to understand and apply ancient wisdom in daily life. Swamiji taught Indian scriptures such as the Upanishads\, the Bhagavad Gita\, and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with both practical insight and philosophical depth. \nSwami Rama was a prolific author\, and authored over 45 books on yoga\, meditation\, philosophy\, and Indian spirituality. His writings reflect a blend of deep experiential wisdom and clarity\, rooted in the teachings of the Himalayan tradition. \nIn this 100-Day online course\, we shall study and contemplate on two of Swami Ji’s books \n1. A Practical Guide to Holistic Health by Swami Rama\nThis is a book ideal for a beginner and any yoga practitioner as Swami Ji lays clearly the yogic as well as modern principles of health of the body\, mind and spirit. For anyone looking to understand and take charge of their well-being\, this book is an invaluable guide. \nThe book offers simple and systematic approach to \n\n\n\n\n\nDiet\nExercise\nBreath awareness\nPositive use of emotions\nRelationships\nMeditation\n\n\n\n\n\nAnd other spiritual practices so that the whole person – body\, mind and spirit can attain radiant health. The book is both inspiring and with numerous practical instructions for those who wish to live with awareness\, purpose and joyfully in their daily lives and become a source of joy to those around them. \nBuilding on the foundation laid through our previous study of A Practical Guide to Holistic Health\, our next exploration will be The Art of Joyful Living. \n2. The Art of Joyful Living by Swami Rama\nIn this book\, Swamiji shows us how to cultivate happiness and a calm\, tranquil mind. He guides the seeker in turning the mind away from its outward distractions toward inner stillness—revealing a deeper purpose to life and a more joyful way of living. \nThe book dwells on the various topics of inner exploration and self-transformation: \n\n\n\nKnowing own true Self\nTransformation of habit patterns\nPositive and negative emotions\nMemory and the nature of mind\nDeveloping strength and will power\nDeveloping intuition\nPurifying samskaras\nSpirituality in loving relationships\nMeditation\n\n\n\nIn Swami Rama’s words\, “You are a creation of God\, but happiness is your own creation.” \nThis book is a guide to developing a loving and joyful relationship with yourself and others. \nSelf-Study and Journaling\nFor any true change to take place within\, self-effort is essential. In the yoga tradition\, this effort is known as the practice of swadhyaya—self-study. Swadhyaya involves both the study of yoga texts by oneself and the introspective examination of the self\, viewed through the lens of the texts. \nAs part of this course\, you will be guided to engage in journaling and personal experiments—reflecting on your habits and cultivating a joyful personality as outlined in the book. \nKeep a diary ready! \nCourse Schedule\n3rd August to 9th November 2025\nSundays | 6:00 to 7:00 PM IST\nFee ₹ 7000 \nAs a dedication to Gurudeva Swami Rama\, all proceeds from this course will be donated to the ashram Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama\, Rishikesh. \nRecommended Books: \n\n\n\nThe Art of Joyful Living by Swami Rama\nA Practical Guide to Holistic Health by Swami Rama\nLiving with the Himalayan Masters by Swami Rama\n\n\n\nAll three titles are available on Amazon. SUMMARY:Shakti – the Subtle Force of the Divine Feminine - Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:As part of the initiatives dedicated to the celebration of the centenary of Swami Rama’s birthday\, the Himalayan Yoga Institute of Florence organizes an online workshop with Rabindra Sahu dedicated to the sacred theme of the “Divine Feminine”\, in Nature and in the entire Universe around us. \nSwami Rama often said that without shakti\, without the feminine Power\, it is not possible for humankind to survive. \nRegardless of gender\, the Divine Feminine is a welcoming\, nurturing\, and transformative force of kindness\, compassion\, and love that each of us should learn to cultivate within. \nSwami Veda Bharati said: “[…] What is important is cultivating the qualities of the hidden essences within yourself and cultivating them without fear. […]” (Cultivating the Feminine in the Male) \n“[…] Be not hard like a rock. Be strong like water that grinds down the hardest rock into grains of sand. Learn the way of water that is woman. […]” ( unpublished sayings  by Swami Veda Bharati). \nThis workshop will be a precious opportunity to contemplate and rediscover a non-physical force – the strength and power of shakti – that resides within each of us\, which will help us become more balanced people and build a kinder society. \nRabindra Sahu\, trained in the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Tradition\, serves as General Manager at the Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) ashram in Rishikesh\, where he teaches and leads the Gurukulam. A student of Swami Veda Bharati\, Rabindra emphasizes the importance of understanding the teachings through direct experience. \nRegistration required. \nFor more information\, kindly write to segreteria@himalayanyogainstitute.it

SUMMARY:Art of Spiritual Learning
DESCRIPTION:The path of spiritual learning is a journey from the external to the internal. From information to knowldege and from knowledge to experience leading to realization. We find in Vedanta the 3 steps of learning; Śravaṇa (listening) is the first step in the process of learning. It involves active and focused listening to the teachings of a Guru. Manana (reflection/contemplation/clearing of doubts) is the second step and involves reflecting on what has been learned and clearing any doubts that may arise. Nididhyasana (meditation on the truth/integration/experience) is the final step and involves meditating on what has been learned and integrating it into one’s life. \nIn these special online study with Rabindra Sahu\, we will learn this ancient art of spiritual learning. \nAs our Master Swami Veda Bharati would often remind us that it is not possible to put a price on the teachings received\, there is no course fee for this course. Loving donations from the heart may be offered and will support the ashram. \nTeacher: Rabindra Sahu\nBegins: 22 July 2023 (Saturday)\nThe 6 sessions will be organized over three weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at 6-7 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) from 22 July – 6 Aug\, 2023.\nKindly convert to your country’s time-zone accordingly.\nMedium: Online through Zoom\nRequest: Kindly join only if you are able to commit to all the 6 sessions\, as the topics are progressive and systematic.\nLast Date for Registration: 21 July\, 2023 (Friday)\nFor Registrations/Inquiries/Donations: ahymsin@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Mind\, Meditation\, and You
DESCRIPTION:How to Energize Your Mind to Regain Your Divine Strength\nA workshop based on the section “Strong Mind\, Weak Mind\,” from the soon-to-be-published book\, Mind: The Playground of Gods\, by Swami Veda Bharati. \nSwami Rama said\, “All of the body is in the mind but all of the mind is not in the body.” In the “modern” world we think of the mind as equivalent to the brain\, which occupies only the small space within the skull. How can it be that all of the mind is not in the body when the brain is entirely in the body? What was that Swami thinking? The answer is that\, according to yoga philosophy\, the mind is a subtle energy field\, whereas the body is gross. The mind field is subtler than prana\, subtler than the body\, subtler than your clothes\, but is still considered to be material and this mind energy field is greater than the body. In other words\, the body lives within the subtler mind field. \nIn this series of Zoom sessions\, we will study this knowledge through the lens of Swami Veda’s writings and lectures. There will be talks by the leader\, readings from Swami Veda’s upcoming book\, introspection\, group discussions\, and group practice. This will be an opportunity to get a better understanding of the mind and a chance to strengthen your mind. \nKindly Contact ahymsin@ahymsin.org for registration and more information. \nDonations are welcome. \nThe event dates are 29 July\, 5 August and 13 August 2023. \n\n\n\nAbout the Workshop Leader\n \nRandall Krause is a Senior Teacher and Mentor in the Himalayan Yoga Meditation Tradition. \nHe has been an initiate for more than 30 years and spent much time learning closely from Swami Veda Bharati. He also often personally served Swamiji in India and America. He has taught the Himalayan Tradition in the USA\, Europe\, India (at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama)\, and Thailand and Taiwan. Randall has closely studied “Sadhana in Applied Spirituality” and experimented with applying the principles in his own life.
