Children at Saksham School

by Sadhana Mishra

Every Sunday I go and teach economically challenged kids in Noida [India].  It's my personal best time.  We don't have regular classroom, we all sit on a durry (cotton carpet), no table, no chairs BUT we have a whole lot of fun.

The kids were complaining and wanted to know why I was away for 3 weeks and that they missed be badly:-))

I told them that I was in Rishikesh, also... that I learnt something new and would like to share that with them.  For the first time, I took them through a 5 minutes meditation.

What a willing audience.  Except for 1 child, all of them said "we are feeling sooooo good."

AND suddenly they all started clapping... I wondered why... Guess what... they told me "this is to thank you for sharing with us what you just learnt.” What a spirit!! What a lesson for me!!

AND they made me take them through 5 minutes mediation again.  We all have agreed; after the class is over we will participate in 5 minute meditation.

I thought of sharing this with you...
