Recognition Award Presented to Swami Veda

It gives me great pleasure to write that on the occasion of HIHT (Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust) Silver Jubilee Celebrations, held in the Open Air Theatre, HIHT, Swami Veda Bharatiji was presented a recognition award for his valuable contribution and long standing association.

The Chief Guest of Honour, the Honorable Harish Rawat, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, presented the awards.

Dr. Vijay Dhasmana came to greet Swamiji at the car when we arrived and escorted him into the theatre.  I was overwhelmed to see how all the guests in the Theatre stood up and turned round with joined palms to greet Swamiji as he was wheeled in and on to the stage. 

A team of SRSG members lead by Dr. Upretiji were proud to be there to witness and applaud the proceedings.

The awards were given to about 24 people whose services have been eminent.  Most of the people awarded are Swami Rama’s initiates who had been with him when the Institute was built and who have continued to serve and support HIHT. 

Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, a member of the Presidential and Governing Body of HIHT and Vice-Chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University, leading the whole event, was clearly surprised and moved when he found himself being one of the recipients of this award.

HIHT and HIHT University have now been incorporated under the umbrella of Swami Rama Himalayan University, and this was commemorated by a dinner to celebrate its 1st Anniversary on Sunday, 1st June.

The celebrations spanned 5 days and there were a lot of interesting cultural programmes organized in the evening by staff and students.

Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT) celebrated its Silver Jubilee,  its 25 year anniversary, in June 2014.

From the HIHT website: “HIHT was established on 1st June, 1989 by H.H. Dr. Swami Rama – our Founder & Gurudev, with a dream to provide affordable healthcare & education facilities to the underprivileged people of the hill areas of Garhwal & Kumaon regions. The journey, from 1989 till 2014 has indeed been a long one. HIHT will be celebrating this joyous occasion with great fervor. Our ‘Silver Jubilee Celebration Week’ shall commence on 26th May and culminate on 1st June, 2014. A number of activities, cultural & musical programs etc. have been scheduled during the week-long commemoration function.”
