Preview of Upcoming Program at SRSGby Charles Crenshaw (editor’s note: Charles and Carol Crenshaw, initiates of the Tradition, first trained under Swami Rama as students of the Eastern Studies Program 1982-84, and went on to serve as co-directors of the Himalayan Institute of New York City for 9 years; following which they served the mission in India through HIHT; then returned to the USA to found the Inner Peace Yoga Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Charles and Carol will be co-instructing the program “Chariot of Sadhana” in Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama from 26th March till 2nd April, 2016. To make inquiries or register, contact: ahymsin@ahymsin.org ) I hearkened back to something that Swami Veda always advocated for his students/disciples – emotional purification. I followed up on my experience with professional instruction and during the course of instruction I ran across a name that was being acknowledged as a consulting pioneer, one of our guru bhai, Dr. Martin Jerry. Contacting Dr. Jerry, I found that the doctors Martin and Marian Jerry and Swami Veda had co-authored a book about what I had been piecing together since 1993. Before Swami Veda left his body my wife and I briefly discussed this work and the book Chariot of Sadhana with him. He mentioned that he had always wanted someone to talk about the information that the Jerry’s presented, but had never found anyone who was that familiar with the ideas that were in his co-authored text. My wife and I offered to do so and will be co-facilitating a retreat at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) in the spring of 2016 relaying the significant findings the doctors Jerry have related to the work of the Himalayan sages that our beloved Swami Veda was representative and exemplar. The things presented are to be learned and used, as Swami Veda would often tell us, not just something for the intellect, the collecting of ideas to talk about over chai. It is a practical work. May the tradition bless you with speedy success in your meditation practice. As Swami Veda always hinted, our work is truly about increasing the subtlety of our awareness, and the simplest things we are taught often produce the most profound effects.
