Full Moon Meditation March 1^st

This is a combined Full Moon announcement and Ahymsin newsletter, so it's going out to both lists at the same time.

“Om Sham” - Swami Veda Bharati’s last spoken words on 10th March 2013, the day he took his 5 year vow of silence. Sham [pronounced shum, vowel sound like the 'a' in "ah"], the bija mantra of peace, about which Swamiji had written, "...all essence of knowledge is Sham, peace."

Sadhakas are coming to Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) at this time celebrating the completion of the 5 years that have passed since Swami Ji’s vow by participating in silence retreats. The purnahuti for Swami Veda's 5-year Mauna Vrata will be March 10, 2018.

Also Himalayan Yoga Publications Trust announces publication of a new book by Swami Veda, Silence: The Illuminated Mind. Please see the article about the new book in this newsletter.

There will also be a Pilgrimage from Bangalore to Sringeri with Swami Ritavan Bharati April 9 – 10 immediately following the sangha gathering. Contact: ahymsin@gmail.com with cc to ahymsinsouthsangha@gmail.com

Registrations for the South India Sangha Gathering and Retreat, which will take place in Bangalore on April 7 – 8, are being taken through the month of February, so there is still time to register!

At SRSG, an HYT-TTP teacher training retreat, a Navaratri Puja, and a Yoga Nidra Retreat will be offered in March, while in April there will be a Program for Initiates. Please check out our Upcoming Events for more about these programs and others.
