The Thousand Names of Shiva

The heavy but mellifluous voice
Flowed in cadences of metrical rhythm
As the thousand names of Shiva
Chanted by the Swami blanketed the audience
Like a cloud messenger on its way to Kailaash.

At times it rose as if broadcast
And at times it sunk to the quiet
Of meditative mode
Encircling the devotees
Into a mesmerizing lull.

As ever the voice, the same
The health though hesitant
The Swami with determination
Called on Shiva to hear
His appellations to the end.
