Silence Retreat in Northern California

Five Days of Silence, November 2-6, 2012

by Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Society Northern California
and the Awakening Retreat Center

We invite you to join us in Five Days of Silence November 2-6, 2012, at the Awakening Retreat Center in Brentwood, California, USA.

Silence is the deepest and most authentic form of communication, both with others and within ourselves. It is the language that transcends the constant noise of our minds and allows us to experience our essence or true Self, that purest state of Being - a state of peace, joy, and love.

Jim Nelson will guide this retreat. He has practiced and taught meditation for over 35 years. Jim has served as the president of the Meditation Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and has worked extensively as a consulting psychologist in both medical clinics and public school settings. He has spoken at both national and international conferences on a variety of psychological and philosophical topics. Jim is the author of the book Running On Empty: Transcending the Economic Culture's Seduction of Our Youth.

Editor’s Note:

Gabi Allen writes:

“Over the last several years I have learned that quite a number of initiates live in the greater Bay Area.

Mary Mohs from the Awakening Retreat Center in Brentwood and I want to create opportunities for people, who learn from and develop with the perennial wisdom of the Himalayan Yoga Meditation Tradition, to come together several times in a year. While a spiritual path is a very personal process and a very different experience for each and everyone, the spiritual community plays an important role on the path and we would like to invite you to be part of and share yourself with that community…

If you cannot make it this time than maybe the next time later in the year. We are currently updating the contact list of the affiliated AHYMSIN center, The Himalayan Yoga Meditation Center of California. We would like to ask those of you, who have not yet heard from Mary Mohs or myself or have not yet responded, to contact us with your telephone number and e-mail address. We will use this information exclusively to inform you about satsangs, workshops and silence retreats.”
