Celebrating Vimala Chaitanya“We all share in the remembrance of this wonderful soul.” – Swami Ritavan Bharati Below is the message of Vimala Chaitanya’s passing away as she wanted it written. She requested a flower placed on the altar at The Meditation Center for her (but not her picture). Vimala Chaitanya (Arnell Sandstrom) passed away peacefully at the age of fifty eight at approximately 1:20 AM on Friday, October 12, from metastatic breast cancer. She was a long-time initiate and friend of The Meditation Center. His Holiness Swami Rama was the Guiding Light of her life and she carries much gratitude for everything that has been given and taught through The Himalayan Tradition. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to: Donations in memory of Vimala to The Meditation Center can be made at this link: http://www.themeditationcenter.org/jnana/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=3 A Letter from Swami Veda Bharati and Swami Ritavan Bharati Dear Family Members, As we say in Sanskrit : divangataa, gone to celestials. May we all share in this commemoration of a beloved family member. It is so difficult to use past tense for her... Vimala was much loved, especially by me, and she knew it, especially in her last days. She discovered some True Realities in the last few years of her life, and that was her major achievement that few rare ones only ever attain. May my heart-felt sentiments become a bouquet of lilies that will assure all of us these highlights in her life achievement. With love and deepest caring to Vimala's spiritual and physical family, Swami Veda Bharati
Her awakening, in these final days of earthly life, is a beautiful tribute to a seeker on the path of Truth. Beyond the trappings of mind-pain & worries, she allowed her spirit to soar. Her belief in this transition was evident in the glimpse she gave us, not in words, but in the illumination of her face. Her longing was fulfilled, her achievement noted; this realm of freedom no longer a dream. May she enjoy her awakening for the dream has vanished. With inspiration and aspiration for all of us who walk in these same footsteps of life. OM Swami Ritavan Bharati
