13th Gathering of 13 Indigenous Grandmothersby Sabina CesaroniThursday - September 4 – 2014 5.30 am: Opening Ceremony, lighting the Sacred Fire, welcoming all participants. We all silently move to the place where we'll celebrate this sacred hoop of compassion gathering with the 13 Grandmothers. This morning special Offerings and welcome, followed by 4 days of public conferences, speakers introducing various topics and 2 days excursions to see the ancient territories, sacred lands once reservations of the Indians of America. This Gathering was hosted by Grandmother Unci Rita Long Visitor Holy Dance, belonging to the Oglala Lakota. We are about to receive ancient seeds blossoming from the fragrant "bouquet" of so many different traditions: South Dakota, Oregon, Black Hills, Mexico, Amazonia-Brazil, Africa, Nepal, Alaska, Tibet, Japan. Each day a Ceremony, each day adding new information, a discovery, a "tessera" of the mosaic, this colourful patchwork of Humanity aiming to become just One, no more separation but Unity. We'll share their "Medicine", their Rituals, their Prayers, their Invocation to the Elements and their specific and careful attention for Mother Earth, for Nature, for Waters... Nowadays there is a need and demand for sharing the same commitment in helping and balancing the planet we are living in, so troubled and in real state of danger. Healing Power, Knowledge, Spirituality... Learn to take care, hold, use equanimity, sense of sacrifice, selfless service protecting that womb we are, that source of any Manifestation, that Shakti, that female principle. This Fire, like in any other tradition, is a blessing and each day, each ceremony, remind us of the capacity to purify and transform: a real vehicle of ascending Light. The visit to Bear Butte State Park was a possibility to see the place where, in times, Lakota and Cheyenne received their Sacred Laws during the ceremonies held to maintain the health and well being of the people. Visiting this mountain is praying and reconnecting with the Creator, praying for the guidance brought for the Elders and Leaders, asking that they would lead by example and let their knowledge and wisdom serve the people in a good way. Bear Butte is a House of worship, and Nature is Sacred, but too often we forgot it. Every story refers to Nature, the worship of it and the sacred meaning of the Elements, being part of us as such a unique gift, an opportunity, a way to keep in touch with our deepest source. Learn to become truly deeply Human… "The importance of education", "Women and children", "Treaties and environmental activism" Up to the next 7 generations!!!!! This is something we should seriously consider... build and change right now what needs to be changed, operating first and radically in ourselves! Again... nothing new! How many times did we hear Swami Rama and many other Masters teaching the need of purifying the nature of our mind! These women have such a passion, such a courage, travelling all over the world, not in their youth any more but so fresh and powerful still... They met in 2010 and their gathering was announced by a prophecy. Thirteen of them answered to the call and from that time had been spreading their seeds of Love and Compassion and capacity of building new possibilities of a balanced healthy life. Let's take that seed and spread it all over... let's take care of Nature Mother Earth, our planet, our children, the children of the future. Their progress depends on us still. Let's become Warriors... of Light, protecting Life itself and its sacred sense.
