Inspirations

by Meeta Jagtap

Meeta has written, “I am not a writer, all these inspirations are from our guru and lineage. So when ever beautiful visions, thoughts and imaginations come, I do write.”  These writings are dedicated to our Gurudeva.

Whispers of Life

All my life I worked very hard to earn this name and fame.

A name which was gifted to me and to earn this fame I gifted myself.

Busy with my chores. I missed the chorus of life.

He asked to surrender. I surrendered myself to passions, ambitions, celebrations, knowledge, love and success. Everything was in abundance. As if I was on the top of the world.

Standing in the midst of life and among my friends, I could hear applauds.

As I completed my years of service still I was blank and feeling clueless and powerless. I don't know why?

What is that which was holding my heart away from the crowd? It was the most precious day of my life a day to be celebrated.

I could hear whispers of my own voice. Why are you not happy, where will y0u find the peace? That really left my heart with the strong impression of inquisitiveness.

Another question: was where should I search for it? Another whisper came: start from here and now itself.

I came back from my world of visions and thoughts to where I was standing; I stepped forward and embraced everyone with the love and expressed my gratitude towards all with the heart and with fully awakened and emotional intentions. I was feeling very light.

Driving back to home, I peeped out of the car window feeling the cool breeze of air and aromatic fragrance of flowers that charmed me completely.

Same road to my workplace, but feelings were different. Wow, what a delight to my senses it was. I stopped the car and got out looked into the dusky sky with a twilight. Moon was in its full beam and was staring at me, as if in deep dark jungle; someone is there standing firm holding a big lantern guiding me on my way.

What a view it was!

On reaching home my wife opened the door; her smile was charismatic.  Was it there earlier too? I was so engrossed in me. I realised what a beautiful smile she has.

I entered the room, saw my grandson, and he hugged me. I murmured what a bliss.  A small bundle of divine energy. He looked into my eyes and said grandpa. I looked into his eyes. What a beaming glitter it was there in his eyes which elevated me further. I hugged him even more tightly. As those eyes were saying I have that for what you have been yearning-Yes, his eyes were full of happiness and peace. I got up early in the morning with the chirping melodious song of the birds as if they were trying to tell me something.  I stepped out, a golden light left my eyes further opened, what a sight it was. Morning breeze and a shimmering sunlight.

As if sun's presence was giving me message: Man I was always present but you never noticed me. What a beautiful day and a life worth living. The last few hours life has taught me so much which I could not feel in many years...it taught me about being expressive, being a good observer, having gratitude, being compassionate,  about cheerfulness and innocence. Thank you life for being so grateful to me!!!

Silent Whispers!

In the quest of silence, I left behind my mind,
I ran, I sat, I knocked, I cried, I read, I slept, I spoke, but I could not find!
Days and nights passed away, I still thought everyone is unkind,
I tried and looked everywhere outside, a voice uttered have you looked inside!

I closed my eyes and listen to that voice which was deep seated inside my heart as an innate,
I asked who are you? It whispered slowly I am your soul mate!
Are you looking for the silence, I said yes!
The voice said to be in that state you have to leave your clever traits!

After long introspection, I agreed to all its conditions,
The voice said to see the transition, you have to put all your contributions!
Just be quite, calm, sit still and expand your observation; all your problems will get all the solutions!

With full faith and love, I developed an attitude to surrender,
I cut all the chains of past and future which kept me as slave!
After few moments I was in solitude and splendour,
I asked my soulmate to be with me, that's what I always crave,

It said don't worry, whenever you need me I am always in your heart's cave!

The Dancing Peacock

Boss - John, can you please come to my cabin? I need to discuss with you what you are planning to write this month in the nature's magazine.

John – Ok, boss, I will be there.

Boss - So what have you thought of, this will be your last submission, I want that it should be the best of your career.

John- You know, boss, photography is not only my passion but I dwell in that; I am going to make sure this time not only that I will capture nature's abode or animals but I am going to write something very motivational too!

Boss - All the best. I will see you after a week.

Next day John was on his way to the forest. On his way he was capturing a panoramic view from the lens of his camera. What a breathtaking beauty! A golden arc in between the clouds. It seemed a group of clouds was passing by and they decided to rest on the peak of the mountain, as if they were saying look we have come all the way to meet you. Though it was 12 noon and John had almost reached the middle of the forest, he had his food and captured some more scenic views.

Suddenly he looked up at the sky. Dark clouds started gathering with the thunderbolt noise. John was unable to decide whether he should drive further or look for some shelter nearby.

As he was thinking he heard a noise he looked back, he saw a peacock and said 'Wow, so beautiful'. He clicked some shots. It was walking as if a royal king with a crest on his head is taking a walk in his palace with beautiful feathers of blue, yellow, green and golden woven neatly.

It seemed a heavy downpour was about to come; he could find a shelter nearby. The door was locked; a water pitcher was kept and some sacks were kept. It started drizzling. He laid down from that place he was able to watch this peacock. The city was very far; there was no way he could move out from this forest today as the track was blocked with the big tree due to thunderstorm. He would hear thunderstorms.  He was worried a little, how will he move out from this forest?

But at the same time this peacock fascinated him. He just gave a thought, nature is so beautiful and so giving, but sometimes it gets annoyed with the human beings. He took out his diary and a pen. All the animals and birds are nature's creation. He whispered, I am fearing nature. Look at this peacock; it is so engrossed and getting drenched in this rain.

The peacock started making sounds as if it were calling someone and he lifted his feathers and started dancing and he was shaking his feathers in a very graceful manner.

Suddenly John's fear started vanishing and he started writing - In the darkest time of our lives, we humans fear or we go in a shell. The walls which we create around us are the biggest obstacles on our path. We stop enjoying life and start taking life as a burden; however, this bird peacock in the middle of the forest is not even worried about the predators, it is dancing and getting absorbed in this rain and is walking gracefully like a king. We humans don't expand and don't open up and sometimes seal our lips tight. We listen, but to our very own thoughts which are continuously arising from our own mind. Peacock not only expands by lifting its feathers up, it opens up and also tries to communicate. It enjoys in the darkest hours, it totally absorbs and get drenched in the rain.  It seems an everlasting emotional connection between the rain and the peacock. Rain says now I have come for you, you have to dance. It dances as if it is relaxing and freeing its body. By shaking it's feathers it frees all its worries. We should also dance in stressful hours as if no one is watching us and relax our minds and shed of all our worries. It is a well known fact that peacock has ugly feet and it gets sad while seeing its feet. However, these feet are its strongest asset as it helps the peacock to catch its prey. However, the divine has given him many beautiful features too, which it enjoys. As humans we also have many positives, even if we have to look down. Look at our feet; they are sign of our strength and they always say move on to the next phase, don't get stuck here. As he was writing he saw another peacock  joined the first one and both enjoyed. He further added when we share our concerns and problems we get solutions, maybe we see things from one angle and the other person could suggest ideas from their  point of view. So we have a choice. It makes life much easier.

As he was about to finish, the rain was almost about to stop. He expressed his gratitude towards nature and to the beautiful peacock. Sometimes simple things give us a meaningful message. He finished writing and drove back.
