“Sutra” Group Introduction

Dear Family Members,

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the AHYMSIN “Sutra” group that was formed at the 2013 Sangha Gathering at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, Rishikesh.

Literally the word ‘sutra’ means a thread that holds all together. The word ‘sutra’ is derived from the verb root siv-, meaning to sew. The AHYMSIN family was formed and grew with Gurudeva’s and Swamiji’s grace and presence. Swamiji travelled to various parts of the world, addressing us at various centers, holding the family together. In that sense Swamiji was the thread, which united all the centers bringing together the beautiful beads to form the necklace. Swamiji is in silence and has decided not to travel as before. We all have been given the opportunity to serve and to fulfill the Mission of our Gurudeva.

Those of us who have come together to form the Sutra group share a common vision to develop a mechanism through which we can hear aspirations, concerns and needs of our family members. Our goal is to bring together AHYMSIN centers across the globe by enhancing networking such that the Mission of AHYMSIN is supported.

The aim is to create and foster an atmosphere of communication amongst centers to enable effective interaction with each other in a manner thereby enhancing our strengths. We can succeed in this only if you become a part of this endeavour to take forward the Mission of our Gurudeva.

In view of this, we invite suggestions from center leaders about how we can serve them best. We would like to write to you individually to understand your views of and participation in the initiative.

We will be happy, for instance, to share stories from your centers in the newsletter with prior permission from you.  

It will be exciting to collaborate and we hope that all of us together will come up with a creative and engaging way to network.
