Annual Day Celebration of HYMC Noida

by the HYMC Noida Sangha

Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara!
Guru Sakshaat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shree Guruvai Namah!!

On 10th of February, 2012, Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center (HYMC) Noida was started with the divine blessings of  Swami Veda Bharatiji of the Himalayan tradition.

In the words of Swamiji-

“May yourself be granted such a yoga centre, where under your meditation shawl, a million souls receive a motherly asylum into soothing and a healing by silence.”

With the blessings of the divine, on the auspicious day of Mauni Amavasya, HYMC Noida completed one year on the 10th of February 2013.

Param Shradhye Swami Veda Bharatiji took a divine Sankalpa of taking our lives ahead on the path of silence and meditation so that we may reach our final destination and become self-realized. This is the only expectation of all Gurus from their disciples to attain self-realization and to complete the final leg of their journey- the journey within.

HYMC Noida started with some chosen students who were guided by an eminent Yoga Teacher Shri Vimalji specially sent by Swamiji to the centre.

The magnetic love of the Divine Master was at play, and soon the students were ready for mantra initiation by Gurudev.

Swamiji embraced everyone at Rishikesh in the shawl of His motherly love and fulfilled his promise of guiding them in their spiritual journey.

The grace of Gurudev knows no limits.

In His infinite love, Swamiji sent swamis and scholars of the lineage from the Rishikesh Ashram [Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama] to our centre from time to time. Swami Ma Radha and Swami Prashant Bharati visited the Centre to guide the students. Gurudev gave mantra diksha through Swami Prashant Bharati, thus blessing the students with his promise of continued guidance.

The initiative of the Centre Head, Mrs Jaya Bhagat, added another milestone to the centre - Yoga Camps specially designed for children - something that our Gurudev loved the most.  Yoga teacher Manojji sent from the ashram by Swamiji conducted the classes for the young aspirants. Swamiji sent His special love and blessings for the children who participated in the camp.

The children learned correct breathing technique, proper sitting posture, Yoga and Meditation from the experienced teacher Manojji. Apart from this, the children were also given lessons on values like truth, fearlessness and facing the challenges of life with fortitude.

Guru Kripa is boundless. The centre which started like a thin stream grew into the cascading Ganga with the divine Sankalpa.

Swamiji subtly monitored the progress and growth of each student and guided them in their dhyana and meditation sessions. Many of his students experienced the bliss and energy which the Master radiated to elevate them.

Personal Experiences of Initiates and Students

  • Mrs. Seth: She had a severe knee and back problem for which she was advised MRI. She was fearful of going through the process. She tried going through the test several times, but could never complete it. However, when she reluctantly went for the test recently, she was surprised as the Guru mantra started echoing in her heart involuntarily and a tremendous sense of peace started dawning over her. She has been doing yoga and dhyana for last one year. She also saw Swamiji sitting in front of her in one of the Dhyana sessions.
  • Mrs. Sudesh Sharma: Before Swamiji inaugurated the HYMC Centre in Noida, Mrs. Sudesh Sharma was extremely keen on receiving guru diksha from him. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, she had to leave for Mumbai on the same day when Swamiji came to inaugurate the centre.  While travelling in the train, she saw Swamiji sitting in front of her and, understanding her desire, taught her how to correctly chant the mantra  which she was chanting at that time. She was later formally blessed with the Guru Mantra at Rishikesh.
  • Mrs. Naina Mathur: She once hurt her head from a road barrier while coming to the centre. She had no time to attend to her injury as she was already quite late for the class. While the yoga practice was in session, the centre head asked everyone to open their eyes and receive the blessings of their guru. While cupping her face with her hands, Nainaji clearly felt that the hands that covered her face were not hers, but Swamiji’s. Gurudev touched and healed her completely.
  • Shashank: He felt the presence of Gurudev in his house and wrote to Swamiji about it. Swamiji wrote back to him confirming that His Gurudev comes to bless His students on many occasions. Many of the students at the centre feel Gurudev’s presence while the class is in session.  Everyone feels that the Master Himself comes to take the class.

On the completion of one year of the centre, Swamiji sent Swami Prashant for giving mantra diksha to some more students desiring for it.

He also sent Shri Sanjay Shastri, PhD, a profound scholar of Sankhya-Yoga-Vedanta philosophy, to enlighten the students on how the life of a spiritual seeker should be. Swamiji Himself wrote the introduction of Sanjayji describing him as the ‘perfect teacher of Indian philosophy, including Sankhya –Yoga’.

The Programme of the Annual Day

1. Lighting of lamp by Swami Prashant and Sanjay Shastri.
2. Swamiji’s following words of blessings were read out to the students:

“This is indeed an auspicious occasion we celebrate on 10th February. The successful completion of one year of Gurudeva Swami Ram centre in Noida under the guidance of the most blessed mother figure Mrs Jaya Bhagat.

10th February this year also happens to be the day of Mauni Amavsya, the no moon day of Magha Month. It is also the day that both the Sun and the Moon enter the Makra Rashi, sign of Capricorn according to the ancient Hindu Calendar.

The day is meant to be celebrated by practising mauna, day long silence. There is no better way to celebrate the founding of a Meditation Centre.

I hope and pray that on this day the devotees at the centre will discover the secrets of silence and quiet mind and that will be the true celebration of this anniversary.

I invoke the presence of Gurudev in your mind’s silence.

In service of Gurudev- Swami Veda Bharati

3. Children chanted shlokas and sang devotional songs.
4. The annual report of the centre was read out.
5. Swami Prashant conducted a meditation session with the students.
6. Sanjay Shastri gave a profound talk on various aspects of meditation and yoga sutra and also shared his personal experiences with everyone.
7. A two minute silence was observed at the end and the programme was concluded with mangal arti and shanti mantra.
8. Swami Prashant sprinkled the holy water of the Kumbha brought specially for this auspicious day on the entire gathering thus closing the ceremony on a very pious and solemn note.

It is indeed our great fortune that the Masters of the highest order have chosen to take the reins of our individual journeys ahead in the path of self-realization.

We pray to our Gurudev to hold our hands tightly till our journey culminates in salvation. We also pray to Him to expand the boundaries of this Centre so that many more souls receive the guidance and blessings of the Divine Masters of the lineage. May He broaden our mental horizons to see the reality so that each one of us receives His grace and becomes His channel.

In the words of Swamiji “May your students prosper in the wealth, that makes no claim to being wealthy. May they be enriched through the riches that renunciation alone confers”

Offerings at the lotus feet of Swamiji.
