Ahymsin Newsletter: Yoga is Samadhi

HYT-TTP Newsletter, November 2014

by Maryon Maass

Hello, Namaste’, Bonjour, Guttentag and all the other possible greetings in all the languages we shared at this Teacher Training Program in November at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama.

We had Level Two with 18 people from Taiwan, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, Burkina Faso, Switzerland, USA and Norway.

In Level One, we had 23 people. The countries represented were Canada, USA, Norway, Germany, India, Ecuador, Thailand, Reunion, Australia, Austria and Belgium.

14 countries in all and that is a record. All 40 are safely back, hopefully reflecting on a special experience.

Some amazing challenges. Two students had to dodge a revolution in their country just to get to the airport. Another student had to arrange family to watch children when she decided at the last minute to pack and join us for Level One. It was a close call for them, but they were guided miraculously to arrive without incidence. I am sure there are a dozen more adventure stories I didn’t hear about.

The determination in the students to be here and to learn from our stellar staff is wonderful to watch as they all are guided to deepen life-changing experiences step by step. Special thanks to all the teachers, Swami Ritavan Bharati, Ashutosh Sharma, Stoma (Dr. Stephen Parker), Peter Fabian, Marilou Hermens, Pierre Lefebvre. Additionally, Geeta Bhoi, Adhikari Bhoi, Ramprakash Das, Sandeep Pandy and Pravin Kumar dedicatedly contributed to the teachings each day.

Marloes Vervaet from Belgium has graduated from the 200 hours program with a completed certification. We congratulate her and blessings from Swami Veda! She will be continuing on to the 3rd level next year and work towards her 600 hours as well.  Well Done!

We had a lovely outing to HIHT (Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust) and with the help of Kamal Brahmacharini, (Patrice Hafford), Director of the Swami Rama Centre, we had a smooth day with lots of things to keep us busy. It was the Mahasamadhi anniversary for Swami Rama, and special events and dignitaries were present. We had a special talk by Dr. Pratibha Mamgain, doctor of the Ayurveda Center who gave a complete over view of “Ayurveda, the Science of Life”.  Thank you both for your time.  The students enjoyed the perfect weather there, for the Bhandara (have you ever seen so many people and shoes??), and the Swami Rama Center, RDI (Rural Development Center), and Bookstore.

We are so fortunate that Swami Vedaji joined us for meditation most every day, truly a miracle and a privilege for all of us, and especially those who have experienced him for the first time. Thank you, Swami ji, for your guidance and love.

As usual, if you wish to have assistance with the instructions or guidance, whether you are a student or a mentor, your questions are always welcome to [email protected] . There are some good tips to share with you!

Next HYT-TTP is March 8-21, 2015. To Register for Level One go to www.hyt-ttp.com and choose “Student Application” under the topic “Teacher Training.” (http://www.hyt-ttp.com/progression.html#apply )  Then submit. If you have registered once, please do not register again…just contact Maryon Maass at the [email protected] address and you will be guided to the next level.

It’s important to note: Mentors need to approve a student before the student comes to the next level. Thank you.

Yours in Service,
