AHYMSIN Board Meeting, April 2018

by Rajini Prakash

Members of the AHYMSIN Executive Committee family came together on 21st April 2018 to share news of various contributions towards fulfilling the mission of the Guru.

Swami Ritavan Bharati blessed the gathering with the prayer, Akhanda mandala karam. (Please see article, Blessings and Guidance from Swami Ritavan to read more of his loving message to leaders and managers.)

As an envoy of the Lineage, Swami Ritavan is travelling to countries across the globe to spread the message of the Himalayan sages. The itinerary features in the above-mentioned article. If you wish to attend an event at a centre close to you please write to [email protected]. You will be directed to the centre leaders at the events who may share necessary details for participation. If attending at SRSG is on your spiritual plan for the year, please write to [email protected] – our spiritual home on this plane awaits you.

It was especially joyful to hear that SRSG was filled with seekers during the purnahuti events. Groups, large and small, from Taiwan, China, Hungary, Korea, Japan, India and others attended.

Teacher Training Programme (TTP):

Particularly significant was that seekers from Taiwan and China underwent the Teacher Training Programme (TTP) Level-1. It was shared that five classes were running simultaneously to accommodate teaching requirements of the visiting seekers. Our family at SRSG received appreciative feedback from guests for their efficient and loving manner of hosting them. Swami Ritavan mentioned that the travels of Swami Veda over the last decade and further efforts over the last few years have influenced and inspired individuals to attend at SRSG.

The TTP Level-1 and Level-3 programmes will take place in November 2018. While teachers on the Programmes are those who have attained high levels of spiritual practice and discipline, some of the advanced teachers have more than four decades of serving the Tradition. It is considered a blessing to be guided by them. For more information, please visit himalayanyogatradition.com.

Outreach Programmes:

The eagerly anticipated first-ever Sangha Gathering event in Bangalore took place in early April this year. Direct disciples of Gurudeva Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati were associated with this event, which drew around 40 people. Those who attended shared that it was an enriching and spiritually uplifting experience.

The Veda Youth group, which is the youth wing of AHYMSIN, have been working hard at these events. They are also in the process of establishing an effective social media presence for AHYMSIN.

Social Media Presence:

Videos of Swami Veda’s teachings have been made available on social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. Swami Veda’s messages are also shared on Twitter and Instagram. You may follow @Ahymsin to receive twitter feed. Instagram posts may be viewed at Instagram explore tags ahymsin –  nestled amongst the inspiring posts are the handwritten messages from Swami Veda.

Some of the titles listed below are available for viewing on Facebook pages of: AHYMSIN, Swami Veda Bharati, Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama and Himalayan Yoga Publications Trust.  They are also available on YouTube.

Many of you have seen the videos carrying Swami Veda’s profound messages; more will be posted soon.

Publications:

By now you would have a copy of Silence, The Illuminated Mind that was released at the purnahuti event at SRSG in early March 2018. The publications team has been hard at work to bring more of Swami Veda’s teachings to the Sangha and to seekers from around the world. Several inspiring titles are planned for release in 2018-19. Watch the space on the newsletter and social media platforms for further announcements.

Pilgrimage:

Swami Ritavan led a group of seekers to Sringeri Mutt in South India. Swami Ritavan said, ‘legend has it that the location of the Mutt was the place where Shankara saw a snake and a frog sitting together without their natural animosity. He recognised the peace that existed between natural enemies at that spot. The temples at Sringeri Mutt including that of the Divine Mother, Sharada, are highly charged places. We were also permitted to cross the bridge which has its own meaning. The entire grounds are highly charged by the many pilgrims that visit every day. We were blessed to visit the place.’

Swami Ritavan closed the meeting with rendering an offering of Purnamadah Purnamidam…
