After Silence: Full Moon of May 2010
I sit, ready to receive.
Silence completed,
Pilgrimage to Chandrabadni and Devprayag behind me.
And you guide me to Guru Chakra, to watch Karmas burn in the Flame.
I want to shout: “Wait, I have been here before!”
But I hold my tongue to honor the moment.
On the Full Moon of April,
In the midst of my silence,
Gurudev came to me in the silent hour before dawn.
And we sat by the flame like old warriors by a campfire,
Pulling up Karmas/Samskaras to toss into the flame
With a casual “We don’t need this anymore.”
In the silent hours before dawn
As I continue the practice you gave me that day,
I am carried back to the morning with our Gurudev
And I continue to watch Samskaras smooth,
And Karmas burn,
As I remember that I don’t need them anymore.
A Guru Purnima Offering
