Silence Retreats in 2018
We have scheduled three silence retreats in 2018 in celebration of the finale of Swami Veda’s 5-year Mauna Vrata (silence vow), which was taken March 10, 2013. The continuity has been maintained here at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) and through various individuals who Swamiji blessed with the same/or similar vow at the 2013 Sangha Gathering. We are planning now for the silence as 40-day, 21-day or 7-day retreats. More will be said on the silence vow and what it means.
The purnahuti for Swami Veda’s 5-year Mauna Vrata will be March 10, 2018.
The silence retreat dates would be:
7 day retreat – March 4-10, 2018
25 day retreat – February 14 – March 10, 2018
40 day retreat – January 29 – March 10, 2018
with silence ending at the close of the Purnahuti Yajna on the 10th
Please plan to arrive a couple of days before the starting date and plan to stay at least one day after the silence retreat. This is with approval of the silence guide. Approval may be contingent upon prior systematic silence practice and/or experience in the silence practices of the Himalayan Tradition.
