Guru – Disciple Relationship

In Honor of our beloved Swami Veda Bharati ji’s Mahasamadhi

ॐ गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः।
गुरुः साक्षात्परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः।।
Om gurur brahmā gurur viṣṇur gurur devo maheśvaraḥ,
guruḥ sākṣāt paraṁ brahma tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ.
Om. To that beautiful and benevolent Guru who is Brahmā, the Creator, Viṣṇu, the Maintainer, and Śiva, the Great Lord through whom all things return to their origin. To that Guru who is the direct experience of Brahman, salutations.
On the most special occasion of our beloved founder Mahamandaleshwar Shri Swami Veda Bharati ji’s 11th Mahasamadhi Anniversary (14th July), let us come together to pay homage to the Guru Lineage on this special day and to recommit ourselves to the living current of the Guru–Disciple relationship. On the most auspicious day of 14 July 2026, we will also hold a shraddhanjali and a bhandara in His loving remembrance.
Join us for this satsanga with Rabindra Sahu, as we come together to delve deep into the meaning and significance of the Guru Prayer and the sacred relationship between a Guru and a disciple.
In our tradition, the Mahasamadhi is the Guru’s final blessing—the moment of conscious departure, when the physical form is shed and the master becomes a pure, limitless stream of consciousness. From that stream, the disciple may drink forever.
“What is a Guru? A magnet. What is a disciple? A few needles.” — Swami Veda Bharati
On this sacred occasion of Swamiji’s Mahasamadhi, let us come as needles to the magnet—not to grasp something new, but to remember what has never been lost.
