Peace Mantras from the Vedas

Shanti Mantras, or the Peace Mantras, are the mantras used as invocations at the beginning and end of the recitations of the Upanishads and other ancient Indian scriptures. These mantras are also used as special prayers for ‘peace’ during everyday pujas and rituals. Some of these mantras also are recited within the Himalayan Tradition and the Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) ashram as part of our daily morning and evening prayers.

This short weekend workshop with Pandit Priyadarshan (Pierre Lefebvre) will offer the students an introduction into this unique category of mantras found in the vast body of Vedic literature. We will learn about the importance of these mantras and their spiritual meanings.
