Question

I need your advice and guidance regarding attending a three day spiritual retreat in Bodhgaya in Buddhist Mahayana Tradition. I am an initiate in our Himalayan Yoga Tradition, and soon planning to start my TTP.

Swami Veda Bharati

One should taste of all paths but keep to one only as one’s permanent path.

Mahayana has many paths and each of the Mahayana paths has a sub-path.  Then there are other Buddhist paths.

I have not yet come across any path that is not included in Patañjali’s system but like all paths we emphasize certain aspects to start with and move on to other ones as a sadhaka is ready for those systems. I have also taught at our ashram Pali language original texts of Vipassana, which is another Buddhist path.

I send you all blessings for your three-day retreat at Bodh-gaya.  If you see any leaves fallen under the Bodhi tree, please pick up a few (if that is allowed) and mail to me.  I had collected some last time I was there.
