Dear {subtag:name},
Living in Love
~ Swami Rama

I don’t understand how you can live without loving people. If you cannot love one person, how can you love the whole universe? And if you cannot love the universe, then what is the use of talking about divinity? The important part of your behavior is how loving you are.
This word “love” is the least understood and most misused of all words in the modern world. People tell their partners they love them, but often they don’t really mean it. If they say, “I love you,” they are lying to the other person. If you love someone you don’t lie to them-that’s not love! But many people know only one kind of language, and that is wounding someone’s heart and mind by suggesting to them in person that they love them, and then when they’re gone, resenting them and criticizing them to others.

The Power of Love
~ Swami Veda Bharati

As seen in the story below, I do believe that love has the power to convert. It has the power to change, but many persons do not understand love. They think that their personal emotional need for comfort is love; that their personal emotional need for someone to say, “Yes, you are great. You are wonderful,” is love. Love is that which requires no such assurances. It is not the fulfillment of weak moments. When there is love a mere mental call will bring the object of your love. That is how the masters call disciples to themselves. People think that these masters have such overwhelming powers of the mind that they send out some shooting ray or rope, a thought with which they tie the disciple’s mind and call him. That is not the case. Masters just love. Simple heart-to-heart love that people respond to.

Love, Light and Deepavali at SRSG
~ Namita Sinha

”Each and every day, light the three lamps of prayer, meditation, and contemplation as a reminder of the perennial Light of Love that you are, your true Being.” ~ Swami Ritavan Bharati, Deepavali Blessings, 2021
At SRSG, Diwali has been celebrated in the traditional way with pujas and lighting up the entire ashram with diyas (oil lamps). This year also a thousand lamps lit up the ashram. The pathways were lit, the areas surrounding Mandala, Maa Tara and Shiva temples, yajna-shala, meditation hall, and the sacred spots of Buddha and Mother Mary were all adorned with oil lamps.

Listening to Swami Veda’s Recitation of the Sri Lalita Sahasranama
~ Michael Smith

A member of The Meditation Center (TMC), in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after listening to Swami Veda’s recitation of the Sri Lalita Sahasranama at the conclusion of Navaratri, wrote:
Tonight, Swami Ritavan concluded Navaratri at The Meditation Center with the Sri Lalita Sahasranama recorded recitation by Swami Veda. Even if it were not an invocation, and we did no more than listen to Swami Veda’s voice, it would be enough.
It is hard to believe that Swamiji recited Mother’s 1000 names so impeccably. Maybe a better word would be ‘infallibly’ — as the Pope in Rome is said to be infallible when speaking ex cathedra (‘from the chair’ [seat]). There was not the slightest miscue all the way through… for over 45 minutes — not even, it seemed, a pause to take a breath! Perfect flow and cadence, inflection and musicality — and tenderness. That in itself is miraculous — something transcendent. A person does need to know even a single word of Sanskrit to be ‘taken away.’
At a Teachers Retreat in the fall of 1999, Swami Veda said, “I am a very ordinary person. You would not believe it. The people who have worked with me and cared for me could tell you that. But when I am speaking from my meditation seat, you had better listen.”

AHYMSIN Taiwan A Cozy Place to Pass Guru’s Love
~ Tinyu Chen

“You need to set up a center in Taiwan, AHYMSIN Taiwan”. This was the loving request from Swami Veda Bharati in 2007. How could you say “No” to your dearest teacher and Guru? With Guru’s blessing, assistance and hard work of many students and friends, it happened. AHYMSIN Taiwan became a reality and was established and officially registered in 2009.
In the beginning, we didn’t have a place for our practices and there was a real need to have a place for the students to practice, and to have the Himalayan Tradition more grounded in Taiwan. We followed Guru’s guidance and blessing, and with patience and sincere efforts, we finally found a small cozy building in Taipei city for the AHYMSIN Taiwan center. We hoped that this small building would serve as a strong base for our practices and to keep sharing the wisdom and love of the Himalayan Tradition. With the center established, we have been having weekly Yoga classes, as well as the monthly full-moon mediations and the TTP study group activities.
Over the years, we also hosted annual workshops and silence retreats in Taiwan. When Swami Veda was still in his body, he visited us along with senior teachers such as Swami Ritavan, Stomaji, Swami Ma Radha, Shi Hong, Swami Nitya, Ashutosh Sharma, etc. Their visit was very significant for us as they shared wonderful teachings and practices and sowed the seeds of the tradition within the aspiring students and initiates. Not only did many students benefited from their teachings and practices, but their visit brought a new wave of energy, love, compassion and joy to the center.
From the 15th to 19th of December, AHYMSIN Taiwan will host a new type of silence retreat. Students will gather in the Catholic retreat venue in Kaohsiung (south city of Taiwan) to receive online teaching from Swami Ritavan, Stomaji, Shi Hong and Ashutosh from India, U.S., Hong Kong and Berlin. Meanwhile, local teachers such as Ning, Sujata, Jenny and Tinyu will accompany and provide in-person guidance to the practices of students…

Contemplations on “The Mystical Poems of Kabir”
~ Upcoming Zoom Event

“Kabir was a great Indian sage, seer and poet.”
“The philosophy presented in his works is identical to that of the Upanishads—there exists a nameless, formless, absolute Reality, One without a second.”
“In his ability to draw value from diverse sources, Kabir was actually like a bee who tapped the nectar from many different flowers and converted it into honey. Kabir’s philosophy and poetry inseparably weave together the threads of knowledge and ecstasy. For Kabir, the goal is sahaja samadhi, a state of mind attained through spontaneous ecstasy.” – Swami Rama, The Mystical Poems of Kabir.
We will be reading a few excerpts from Swami Rama’s book – The Mystical Poems of Kabir and contemplate on the teachings with Rabindra Sahu.
