The intensely emotional experience of rising energy which a lover of God feels (a lover of God, that is, who is separated from Him, who does not know that he or she has any love for Him, and who is using all of that energy in whatever pursuits his mind happens to be involved in) – this energy can always be traced to its origin in divine love.  A robber planning a masterly robbery, a painter producing a masterpiece painting, a poet bringing forth (not knowing from where) exquisite diction and expression, a man mad after a female body, a woman never satisfied with sex – all of these are expressions of shakti, divine energy, the kundalini, pouring forth through our chakras. But because of our limitations we do not recognize the true source of that energy. It is for this reason that a man of God never judges others and trains his disciples not to judge people, not to be ungodly, for the immense rain of energy that comes to them from God does not always take the direction that we think is godly. Very easily, however, by the touch of a master hand, the great energy of sex, the great intellect, the great inspiration, the great vision, even the great mad rush for worldly power – all of that can be directed toward God when the soul is ready because, ultimately, there is only once source of energy, and no other.
