Theses powers or siddhis are within all of us. “They” are powers of God Himself. Once one becomes realized (Realization of Self) then powers are experienced or siddhis are available to use.
How come a Swami is practicing external rituals?

A Swami is free. S/he is under no obligation either to perform or not to perform rituals. The point is whether one is attached to their action.
What is the role of the personal mantra in yoga?

When one is doing the mantra all else takes secondary importance and the mental repetition is all that matters - it also helps to remove ideas of 'ego' as it dwells only on sound. Once that concentration is mastered the other subtle reasons reveal themselves and there would not arise the question asked.

God’s Providence, like the blue sky, is forever above us all. And so, after searching for two decades, it was Divine Providence that led me to my Guru, Sri Swami Rama. It all started after I read Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi in the late 1960s. That book inspired me to join the Self Realization Fellowship (SRF) program of the Yogoda Satsang Society founded by Yogananda. However, my search for a living Guru continued because SRF’s distance learning material could not fulfill my yearning for direct spiritual guidance.
I am lost. I believe meditation can heal. I fear I am too lost. Can you help me?

Indeed, meditation will help but before you embark on meditation I would suggest that you go there Hatha Yoga and then breathing. Then meditation will begin to help the mind. It will give you clarity and intuition to move to the right direction.

You are doing the asana only with your body, first do it in your mind, master it there, breathe, then let it flow into your body.

Saumya Mantra

This mantra is addressed to the Divine Mother as Saumyā, Divine Mother as cool, gentle, moonlike peacefulness. It is used as a special mantra for the cultivation of these aspects of personality. The mantra occurs in Caṇḍī, or Devī-mahātmya, (I.62 or 71, depending on the edition) an important text in the tantric part of our tradition.

Khe Charati Iti Khechara: Khe means Akash (sky), Chara means walking; therefore Khechari means walking in to the Sky. There is also a Khechari Mudra that which allows a Sadhaka to walk or roam into the Sky. The different layers into the Sky of a Sadhana.

Yesterday I fell asleep watching a movie at my computer and knocked over a cup of water. I frantically sopped up the damage. A few hours later, I turned on the computer again and the setup looked strange. I rebooted and it was all back to normal.
