In Memory of Maya

14 December, 2010 @ 4:28 am

The vessel of some gets so full that it spills its drops into the hearts and minds of all whom they touch.  Margo, Maya, is indeed one of those who spilled of her fullness and has carried a full vessel with her.  She leaves behind her, hearts and minds feeling fulfilled with the teachings she imparted by her personal presence and by her words and acts.

Dive into the Depths of Your True Nature

13 October, 2010 @ 6:57 pm

When I refer to nature, I refer to that which is an intrinsic part of our being; which is perennial, eternal, from beginning-less times to endless times. That nature, being intrinsic, is not alterable. It is not mutable. It is forever that; it is our very being. The meditator meditates to dive through the surface habits, to the depth where our nature, our Svabhava and Svarupa lie hidden.

Satsang with German Group, 31 March 2000

3 September, 2010 @ 10:18 pm

All these are all partial statements. Because yoga is so vast that it is not possible for any one person or for any one school to practice all of the yoga. No individual, no school. So that each individual or disciple is given, by a Master, the part that he can easily manage and pass on. And that becomes a school. But the total picture of yoga includes all of these systems. It is not true that in Tibetan tradition there is no physical asanas. These are all partial statements. There is a very strong physical element in Tibetan-Buddhist practice. For example, before one is given the first high initiation one has to do 125,000 prostrations with a mantra. And so each prostration is like a Surya namaskara. 125,000 repetitions with each going down and coming up, going down and coming up; before you are given the first initiation. The entire Japanese meditation system is linked to their practice of martial arts and that requires a great deal of physical preparation.

Signs of Meditative Progress

17 August, 2010 @ 4:43 pm

May the peace mind of the universe fill your personal mind.  God bless you. Eternity to be packed in forty five minutes, no problem, it can be packed into one trillionth of a second if we know how to enter the consciousness of one trillionth of a second and that is what the yogis have done for thousands of years of the history of this earth.

Process of Japa

25 May, 2010 @ 6:30 pm

Your japa begins when your mantra becomes pure thought in the mind. I gave you this one minute to make your mantra pure thought in the mind. Now understand that your annamaya kosha, pranamaya kosha, manomaya kosha, vijnanamaya kosha, anandamaya kosha are all interlinked. And the states of your annamaya and pranamaya (physical body and prana body) the states of these are all the time being fed into your mind, so that if your body, neuromuscalature, nerves and muscles, are tense, they are sending tension messages into the mind. Mind is becoming tense and mind is then travelling to all different areas of thoughts, memories, and experiences.

Earthquakes and Mindquakes

25 May, 2010 @ 12:18 pm

Meditators do not suffer mind quakes even during earthquakes.  I recall my first earthquake in Dehradun. I must have been about 9 or 10 years old.  The whole family had gone out somewhere and I was absolutely alone.  I felt the ground and the house shaking, my mind said this is an earthquake!  Something inside me made me run out of the house,  jump down two steps from the platform on which the house was built, into the middle of the road and I stood there fascinated until the earthquake subsided then went back in.  I recall a fascination but not a fear.

A Secret

10 May, 2010 @ 5:15 pm

Wherever you go, wherever you sit down – you sit in a bus – you sit in your car seat – you go to a party – even if you are going to get drunk – it doesn’t matter. . . . Wherever you go and sit down – you come in here and sit down – okay? – mentally, without any ritual, without letting on that you are doing anything unusual at all, behaving among the rogues as a fellow rogue – do you follow?
