The mantra for the next three years is both of the sections [A] and [B] done together, one after the other. These two parts together count as "one" repetition. See the "Sankalpa" section below to decide how many repetitions to practice each day. Note the "pronunciation guide" is to be followed (3rd part) for the Gayatri section. The pronunciation spelling of "bhoor" (final "R") is correct, due to rules of Sanskrit grammar. (I.E. it's not a typo).
Phoenix in Haiti, January 2010

I only have hope and not despair. I believe and envision that this dismantling has occurred so that Haiti may rise as a phoenix and I believe that now Haiti will rise as a prosperous democracy of a people who are happy and in comfort. Imagine what that nation will be like even by 2020 with all the efforts now already going into rebuilding and giving hope to those who for now seem to have lost all hope.
What Is a Pilgrim?

But what is a pilgrimage and who is a pilgrim?In the mystic traditions of the world, life is regarded as a journey. Its rites of passage are the wayside inns. In the traditions of India, the concept of an inn, however, was not known. The word used was dharma-shala, the house of dharma. The country was dotted with these dharma-houses, endowed by the wealthy or built and managed by village, ethnic, trade guild, and suchlike groupings. These were places for the pilgrims to stay, somewhat like the hospices of the Middle Ages in Europe. According to a count I received from the City Council of Haridwar - twin to Rishikesh - in 1968, there were at that time 76 such establishments, large and small, operating in that city alone. Alas, the tradition has been giving way to the tourist hotel because today's traveller to sacred places wants to call himself a pilgrim but seeks to enjoy the comforts of tourism.
Human Fulfilment

Humanity does not face many problems; all the problems are facets of the same single one. It is the lack of full understanding what human fulfilment is. The contemplatives get a sense of fullness from within themselves. Others seek fulfilment by conquest and gathering of objects. This results in few people over-milking of the cow called the Earth. This results in the unitary problem of faux wealth, poverty and hunger, wars.
When is the best age to meet your Master?

A student once asked Swami Veda Bharati about Guru-Disciple Relationship - "when is the best age to meet your master?" Swamiji replied - "I’ll give three brief answers." First answer is 3 years before you are conceived because he would give instructions to your parents. This happens in rare cases – 3-years before, 10-years before.

And I’ve found that the God has made a very, very loving world, and my prayer for you is that you find your world to be the same, and my prayer for myself is that whether someone throws roses at me or throws mud at me, I should remain the same and there should be no change in the level of my love. That’s my prayer for myself, and for you, may you find the world to be as full of love as beautiful as that I have found in traveling around to strange places, new places. Everywhere may you find the same.

On the way to India in August of 1989, I spent ten days at our Himalayan Institute near Hamburg in West Germany. It is a center that has grown tremendously in less than ten years under the dynamic leadership of Wolfgang Bischoff. This time he had prepared 50 students to study with me, and the enjoyment of teaching was all mine. One evening all the Ashram members – residents of the Institute – gathered at Wolfgang's house. One of the questions they asked was: "We came to live at this Institute ashram with the hope of studying, practicing meditation, and living peacefully; instead, we have to work hard day and night to keep the Institute growing. Why is that?"
Mantra After Initiation

Mantras are units of sound contained in a combination of syllables or words. The universe is composed of the single energy of which two beams are sound and light. One does not become activated without the other, especially in the inner spiritual space. The sound units that are called mantras are not ones that are passed on from ear to ear; that is their only physical manifestation.

The beginning point of all social change and the ending point of all social change is in oneself. So integrating it all into oneself and daily giving oneself some time for contemplating these issues – not on how to bring change in the society, or how to bring change in the economics, or how to bring change in the social structures of education – but where to bring change in oneself.
