Fifth Anniversary of Swami Veda Bharati’s Maha-samadhi

“Share with the world a wrinkle-free forehead, a calm, soothed, wrinkle-free mind-pool of stillness and silence.” the often repeated words of Swami Veda.

Our mandate of the Lineage remains — “share with the world the pure form of meditation: as a process and a goal.” Through meditation, prayer, and contemplation we change the world, from within.

And today we are ready to embrace a world that has changed, and in a subtle way, has become purer, more beautiful, kinder, and more compassionate. We send a quiet, yes, very quiet message to the forces of the subtle world and having done so, leave it there, surrender it to the divine will, and do not struggle.

A force unites us around the globe, this unified experience of Oneness challenges us to remember those who are experiencing the pain and suffering of illness and loss with patience, compassion, and understanding.

When faith and hope have matured in the fires of sadhana, a loving mind, the gold of the pious alchemists’ forms as the pure-hearted gem of the saintly world. This aspiration, this sankalpa for a life well-lived, is what unites us, and these are the aspirations, as well as, the gifts we bring to the world today.

We gather in celebration on this fifth anniversary of the Maha-samadhi of Swami Veda, with this gift for the collective mind-field of humanity. Please receive the blessings of this sacred fire and our akhanda-japa from our residents at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG). And, as we continue with our Saumya-Sangha Mantra, Tare Tut Tare Ture Svaha, may this Mantra of Peace, find sanctuary in our interior solitude – a sacred place of peace, beauty, fullness, and wholeness in the heart-cave of humanity. We honor this revered saint, who touched our hearts, in our lives bearing witness to his teaching: “Let each person feel loved“.

In service to the preceptors of the Lineage,
srb

Mahasamadhi Address (2016)

Guru Brahma…
Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah;

Namaste, as Gurudev would say, “I salute the divinity that is within you.”

A sincere Welcome and Greetings to One and All; and please receive the blessings of these saints and distinguished guests, who have gifted us with their presence.

All of us have journeyed to this sanctuary, to this sacred place of beauty and peace, with sentiments–bhava, of respect, shraddha-faith, and joy.

When devotion has matured in the fires of tapas, in our sadhana, a gem is formed. A pure heart is the gem of the saintly world; a loving mind, the gold of the saintly alchemists. This aspiration, this sankalpa for a life well-lived are the gifts we bring today.

We gather as a celebration on this first anniversary of our beloved Swami Veda’s samadhi. Here, we are not adoring the physical body which was placed in this space one year ago; we are present to embrace the subtlety of his example, the beauty of his teaching, and faith in his mandate — “share with the world the pure form of meditation and only initiate into the same.”

We gather to give witness — that our relationship with the Yoga Meditation Tradition, a Living Lineage, should be absolutely pure and selfless, and carry the Guru-Shakti of self-transformation and spiritual awakening.

This is expressed in performing our duties selflessly and with mindfulness of: “Let Each Person Feel Loved.” This fulfills our debt to our beloved Swamiji and assures a wholesome and holy life.

May I present these distinguished guests — these living saints as examples of gems in the world today. They live with the constant awareness of divinity and always mindful of their duty. May their words and their silence encourage you, inspire you, and guide you to that inner source of Light and Love.

NOW for a moment of Silence…

Om; shreem gurudev namah;

This is the text of Swami Ritavan Bharati’s address of tribute for Swami Veda’s Mahasamadhi to those attending the 1st anniversary commemoration at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) and for those sadhakas unable to be physically present at SRSG. July 14, 2016.

Invitation to 1st Mahasamadhi Anniversary: 14 July 2016

Dear Divine Soul,

Last year, our beloved Swami Veda left his body, departing from this material plane into “Eternal Silence”. Swami Veda had lived in “Samadhi” while he was still in his physical form. When he left his body, he became free from its restraints and entered “Mahasamadhi”. He indeed was a master of Love, kindness, compassion, light of wisdom and peace. He transcended all boundaries and touched the hearts of millions.

Now as he is no longer in the body, it is even more important that we join our spiritual entities together as disciples of the Tradition to continue on the path that he has shown us.

As a mother feels pleased at the sight of the clean face of her infant, so the Guru-Lineage is pleased at the sight of purified, meditative minds, and grants them the favour of love.

Please join us on this occasion of first Mahasamadhi (Thursday, 14th July, 2016) of our beloved Swamiji to offer Japa and Meditation to his memory. You are welcome to join as ‘Yajamana’ of 5 days Guru Gayatri Yajna (from 10 to 14 July 2016).

I look forward to your joining in the AHYMSIN family for this sacred celebration and heartily welcome you and your family, along with friends & relatives, to attend this celebration at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, Rishikesh, India.

Let us all carry Swami Veda’s divine love and blessings in our heart. May the wave of grace elevate you, uplift you, guide you and purify you.

With love and grace of the tradition,

Swami Ritavan Bharati
