Upcoming AHYMSIN Sangha Practice for 2022 Onwards

On the sacred occasion of the Mahashivaratri 2019, Swami Ritavan Bharati, our Ashram Pramukha and Spiritual Guide, had initiated the AHYMSIN Sangha into a collective special mantra practice. Thousands of initiates and students around the world practiced the Saumya-Tara Mantra during the last three years. This sangha practice will now be coming to a conclusion in Feb 2022, with a special Purash-charana, Yajna, and Purnahuti of the Saumya-Tara Mantra. On behalf of the Lineage and all our global family members, Swami Ji will be presiding over the conclusion ceremonies.

After the Purnahuti of the previous Sangha Practice, Swami Ritavan will initiate the AHYMSIN Sangha into a new mantra on 25 February, 2022. Further guidance on the new practice will be offered over the following few days.

On the auspicious day of the Mahashivaratri on 1 March 2022, Swami Ji will take a sankalpa for the new practice on behalf of the AHYMSIN Sangha.

With 2022 approaching soon, we now hope and pray to leave behind the memories of covid and enter into a new world with joy, inner silence and stability. We recommend everyone wishing to come to the ashram to check the latest covid-19 travel advisories, as shared by your own country/state, and as shared by the Indian government and the Uttarakhand government. If you are able to safely undertake travels to the Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) ashram in Rishikesh to be a part of these special events, kindly write to us at ahymsin@ahymsin.org

We long to once again be in the meditative and joyful presence of our loved ones from across the globe…

The Importance of the AHYMSIN Community Saumya Mantra Practice

Once again let us come back to our practices. The practices that no doubt each of us have by way of those daily routines of sadhana, but by way of having time, making time, honouring time to intensify, to deepen, to nurture another part of our spiritual life that we have always hoped for – the opportunity to address in addition to our daily meditation for spiritual renewal, for that rejuvenation of the spirit by way of our own mantras, also knowing yourself to be not the meditator, but the very way in which the meditation can flow, a flow that actually is arising from the samasti citta, from the universal mindfield where those saintly minds, the Masters in their bodiless forms remain as mind and thereby extending their blessing honouring that role that they continue playing in blessing humanity and thus bringing grace toward for us by way of our meditations to receive.

Along with the personal mantra, we have our community mantra, the Saumya mantra, and it’s not a coincidence that the Saumya mantra was introduced a year ago. For when we look at when such collection mantras are brought forward to our awareness, we find that there are preparations for that inner strength. Swami Veda brought the first recognition of the Saumya mantra to the community back at the turn of the millennium. Only then did he address what this pacification of the mindfield on a universal scale would mean and would be necessary.

And he gave such a beautiful address The Perennial in the Millennium, meaning how to envision the future, because it was only within a number of months later that the United States experienced a trauma of that terrorist act that brought an entire change of consciousness through the community of the US citizens. But it actually affected the entire globe. And it actually gave us at that time a mirror to look at ourselves, and yet how we acted and reacted has continued some theme in our humanity of fear and protection and [of] securing our small little concept of self. He recognized that this was coming; he asked us to begin the Saumya, and we continued that for this period of time plus an entire 3-year segment.

And now that mantra is coming back to us a year ago. We too are preparing and have actually prepared the groundwork for what is now happening which has once again shown us that we must think of the future in a positive way, in a vision, that will create the themes of this perennial in the millennium, that we once again will come back to and reread and contemplate on and secure in our mind very clearly a vision for our future.

And that’s not imaginary; it’s not fantasy; it is the reality of that first yoga, that first way in which humanity has a collective harmonious mindfield of the saintly. This is how they lived, and this is how a segment of that consciousness has continued to mature and manifest in each of the many yugas that have continued from that point. So whether we simply say “Oh, this is the Kali Yuga” and again and again, we simply blame our own ignorance, our own pain and sufferings that is outside of us. We have the opportunity to go inside. We have the opportunity to envision the prominence of that perennial that remains and thereby create the future that we wish for.

Swami Rama reminds us that we are the writers of our own manuscript day by day. In this lifetime for our next lifetime. So, how will we compose this life and write the book of life that will then be a chapter for the next manifestation of this Jiva Atman?

An Invitation to Return Home – AHYMSIN Sangha Gathering 2019

We are members in the spiritual body of the Gurus. Their life-force, their grace flows through us. Our own minds grow in this grace only when we remember that in all our work we are serving as members, as organs, of that Spirit. – Swami Veda Bharati

As constituents of this Sangha, this body of the Guru, we aspire to come together regularly for the pursuit of our spiritual goals, to take stock of our progress, as well as chart the way ahead to prepare ourselves for a deeper commitment to our sadhana, and to the Mission.

AHYMSIN Sangha Gathering 2019

Swami Ritavan Bharati extends his personal invitation to all members of the Guru family to gather at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama between February 25 – March 5, 2019, to immerse ourselves into the triad of ‘Love, Serve, Remember’ which Swami Rama enjoined and the principles given to us by our beloved Swami Veda through his writing on “Perennial in the Millennium”.

There will be special lectures, group discussions, and workshops, on “Love, Serve, Remember, Perennial in the Millennium, and Unifying Streams in Religion”. There will be advanced classes on Hatha yoga, Pranayama, Contemplative Walking, and Guided Meditations led by Swami Ritavan and other senior teachers during the gathering.

Swami Ritavan will guide the AHYMSIN Sangha into the next set of practices for the next 3 years, in preparation for the 2022 Kumbha Mela.

We would also have the AHYMSIN executive committee elections at the same time.

The 9-day Sangha Gathering will be shared in the following manner:
• February 25 – 27, 2019: The theme of Love
• February 28 – March 2, 2019: The theme of Serve
• March 3 – 5, 2019: The theme of Remember. March 4 is also the Mahashivaratri and there will be all-night celebrations on that day.

We also take this opportunity to express our encouragement to participants who would like to arrive a couple of days prior to, and/or to stay beyond, the gathering to deepen their practice. There will also be special parallel workshops on Dance of Transformation, and Self-Regulation and Biofeedback from March 6 – 9, 2019.

Registration for the gathering will open (only for initiates) from August 15 – October 31. We regret that accommodation will be limited and is subject to a first-received-first-serve basis. To know more about attending the Sangha Gathering, please write to ahymsin@ahymsin.org

Guru Purnima Letter

Swami Ritavan has written in the Guru Purnima Letter, “Please again read through the daily inspirations for the 40-day Spiritual Festival of Peace and choose your top 10; then select the three that you will commit to practice for the next six months. At that time (February 2019), we will gather for our special AHYMSIN Sangha in Rishikesh, with prayer and contemplation to discover and apply the steps of Spiritual Peace, within, and for our global family.”

2019 Sangha Gathering and Preparations

When we look to the future, we see the opportunities for change, for growth, for embracing a loving heart and a smiling mind. During these 40 days of spiritual peace, we deepen our commitment and accept our practices as discovery – a tapas of peace. We deepen our relationship with the source of inner light and knowledge through remembering our spiritual heritage, our guides, our inspirations of the past reborn in this deep innate desire for freedom, self-understanding and joy.

As the 40 days lead us to Guru Purnima, and to our upcoming Sangha gathering, we reflect, review, and preview these themes of living a spiritually fulfilling life. Living with the sense of sustainability, with a sense of understanding Mother Earth’s ability to produce and humanity to recognize the nature urge of living in harmony and understanding. We re-commit ourselves through our three themes of ahimsa, aparigraha, and ishwara-pranidhana. With an intention of restraint and understanding, humans can rise above the desires of wanting and taking. The destiny of humanity is to live with awareness and in harmony with nature, living in peaceful co-existence with all and thereby creating a beautiful future here and now.

We are honoring Swami Veda’s contribution through a beautiful little booklet that he created for the United Nations and also for the Parliament of World Religions. Nearly 20 years ago, he shared his revelation in “The Perennial in the Millennium”. These sentiments are as important now as they were then, and will be, in the next decades to come.

Perennial in the Millennium

He presented us with a How-To manual to create a beautiful future, a peaceful future, not only for oneself but for one’s family, community, and abundance for the whole world. In this booklet, he has given us tools for insight and guidance of humanity if they so choose.

In our sangha gathering, members of the world organization, the AHYMSIN organization will honor the Tradition with the dictum of Swami Rama: Love, Serve and Remember, and take steps to apply the vision that Swami Veda left with us to inspire our spiritual-lives for future generations.
